RTD Sensors - Thermowells - Thermocouples

Thermocouples & RTD Sensors

Industrial Thermocouples

Industrial thermocouples are temperature sensors used in industrial applications. They are commonly used to measure temperature in a variety of industrial processes, such as in furnaces, ovens, boilers, and other high-temperature environments. Industrial thermocouples are typically constructed of metal alloys, such as copper, iron, nickel, and aluminum, and are designed to withstand extreme temperatures and environments. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles, including probes, rods, and sheathed thermocouples. Industrial thermocouples are widely used in industries such as food processing, chemical production, oil and gas, hazardous areas, petrochemicals, and manufacturing.

General Purpose Thermocouples - suited to most applications, most common thermocouple - type K

RTD Sensors

RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensors are temperature sensors that measure temperature by monitoring changes in electrical resistance. They are commonly used in industrial and laboratory applications to measure temperature in a wide range of environments. RTD sensors typically consist of a wire coil or film of metal wrapped around a ceramic or glass core. The resistance of the wire changes with temperature and this change is used to measure the temperature of the environment.

Thermowells

Thermowells are tubular protective enclosures used to protect temperature sensors from the process environment. They are inserted into process vessels, pipes, or tanks to allow for the insertion of a temperature sensor such as a thermocouple, thermistor, or RTD. Thermowells have been designed to allow for the easy removal and replacement of temperature sensors without having to shut down the process. They also protect the temperature sensor from the corrosive process environment and provide support to hold the temperature sensor in place.

Thermowells are available in a variety of materials such as stainless steel, brass, and plastic.

Thermocouple Cable

A Thermocouple cable is a type of cable used to measure temperature. It consists of two conductors of dissimilar metals, such as copper and iron, which are joined at one end. The other end is connected to a temperature-measuring device. The temperature at the junction of the two metals is measured by the device, and this is then used to determine the temperature of the environment. Thermocouple cables are used in a variety of applications, such as industrial processes, medical equipment, and even in home appliances.
